ANZAC Connection Documentaries
From 2005 to 2008 there was a burst of Anzac fever as a number of 90 year anniversaries were commemorated at specific sites around the world. Solo - documentary maker Gary ‘Tex’ Houston visited three major locations - Gallipoli Turkey, Beersheba Israel and Villers Bretonneux France to film a historic and contemporary narrative of each location - then and now.
Filmed on location in Amien & Villers Bretonneux on the Somme, France in April 2008.
In February 2008 Tex Houston made a ten day journey from Beersheba Israel to Damascus Syria to retrace the movements and battles of the Light Horse in 1917 - 1918.
For the 90th anniversary of the landing at Anzac Cove over 20,000 people attended the Dawn Service, including presenter Tex Houston.
